I doubt he'll ever appear on these pages, but I consider him one of the great geniuses of film.

I fixed it for you.

Actually, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen much of his work personally, but I do know how influential he was. As the article said, Kurosawa, Fellini, Bergman...the great ones are leaving us. Time marches on.

Didn't care much for Persona, though I could appreciate that it was beautifully made. But I remember loving The Seventh Seal... and I need to watch it again; haven't seen it in ages.

Not familiar with much of his other work, and I really ought to correct that. He was indeed one of the greats.

A sad loss indeed, although you can count me among those who still have to see one of his films. Someday, I promise.

It would be interesting to see Ken review the Seventh Seal as a homage. He has reviewed good movies - well, one good movie...

Michelangelo Antonioni died the next day. For some reason film-related celebrities always leave us in groups.

So... who will join Steven Seagal when he leaves for a new reincarnation?

That's a tough one. Christopher Lambert?

Perhaps they could do a remake of the Seventh Seal with Seagal as the knight and Lambert as Death?
