When I heard DiCaprio was cast as Howard Hewes I scoffed and turned out he was great in the film. Aside from maybe being too scrawny I'm willing to believe he can pull off Teddy Roosevelt.

He has sort of the right shaped face. Put that big goofy mustache on there and yeah, maybe. And given his surprisingly non-sucky performance as Hughes, I will remain open minded for the time being *g*

He also did well on Blood diamond. That won't save the movie, though. And The departed, let's not forget that one.
To be fair with DiCaprio, he did start by making good acting. It was only after Titanic that he entered his poster-boy era, and by now he seems to be very interested in tearing it down for good.

TR was pretty scrawny as a youth and as the movie is only going up to 1898 it's not that much of a miscast.
