I went to a video arcade game convention in Santa Clara to feel like a 10-year-old kid again. I had an absolute blast with all the games that I fed rolls of quarters into as a kid. As I was making my way out, I see a couple tables set up with a bunch of movie posters on the wall behind, with Greydon Clark's name all over them. And there he was, chatting with folks and selling his DVDs and still shots.

I bought a copy of Satan's Cheerleaders and chatted with him for a bit. He was a very likable guy. Signed the DVD whilst making jokes about how hard it was to get the things open, posed for a picture then asked if I wanted one of both of us; then when his wife took that pic, he made sure it was a good pic. Friendly guy!

During the conversation, he said some interesting stuff:

on Joe Don Baker: "A super guy. Real nice fella." Said that Baker refused to do Ischeid because he had no interest in TV, until the Isheid folks threw so much money at him that he couldn't say no.

on Jack Palance: "He had a reputation for being difficult to work with, but he and I never had any problems. I liked working with him."

On John Carradine: "I had him for one day [on Satan's Cheerleaders]. I could direct him by shorthand. I'd say, 'Walk over here, grab the girl, then turn to the camera and give a maniacal laugh.' And he'd say, 'No problem!' It was that simple."

on The Uninvited: Said he's always preferred comedy, so The Uninvited was different for him. "It was the best killer-cat-on-a-boat movie ever made!"

on the MST3K treatment: "I didn't mind it because it meant more people would see the movie.......some of the jokes were clever, others weren't so clever. But...**shrug**...if it means more people see the movie."

Very, very cool! Hey, the guy directed The Uninvited!

Hank Hill, perusing a waiting room magazine: "I'll tell you what, this Goofus fella is a dumbass."
