| Am i the only one who thinks Carpenter's episode was amazing? Probably it's the best one after the one made by Don Coscarelli. I was quite dissapointed with the rest of them, except John Landis' Deer Woman, which had some moments of sheer lunacy and was overall quite good. |

Haven't seen these because I don't spring for Showtime, but I hope to catch them on video/DVD.
That said, it seems that Joe Dante really shot himself in the foot:

Actually, the worst episode IMHO is Tobe Hooper's. Hard to believe it is made by the same guy that not long ago proved he's still alive with The Toolbox Murders.
The worse part of the Joe Dante episode is that I mostly agree with his points. I won't go into much detail, but I've already expressed in this board my opinions about the whole Iraq affair. But Dante expresses those views in such a crude and silly way that it kills his episode. It is zero fun. I don't have anything against political satire (I wish we saw more of it, actually), but I guess we all should agree it requires some wit.
Anybody else wants to comment on this series? Given the talents involved (Coscarelli, Dante, Landis, Hooper, Argento) I expected more feedback, really. |

The craziest thing about Dante's cornfed USDA grade A ham-fistedness is that this plot has already served as the basis for a horror film:

This is pretty hard to find so I haven't seen it myself, but by all accounts it does seem that it was meant to be an anti-war movie. Its overt anti-war sentiment, however, seems to be clear enough without the zombie soldier taking a bus to D.C. and ripping out Robert McNamara's or Henry Kissinger's eyeball. |

Funny. I thought of "Uncle Sam" instead. You know, that William Lustig film where a zombie vet from Desert Storm kills "unpatriotic" people all around.

Now, shall we talk about the GOOD episodes for a change? |
