Ironically, it's good to hear that.
To Citizen Carrier: Actually Hollywood has been trying to cash in from the 80s nostalgia for a while, and they're not the only ones. Since a few of years ago everything I ever listened to, watched, read or simply heard of is being remade in such a silly fashion I wouldn't even recognise the originals in which they are based if it wasn't for the advertising. And I'm afraid it will only turn worse in the years to follow unless several of this remakes fail miserably at the box office.
The A-Team movie could be the next attack to my chilhood memories. Hope it never gets made, specially considering how lame the original show was. |

I dug the Starriors too, despite the goofy-ass names. If I recall, they were created by mankind at the precipice of a global disaster. Mankind was going to go into suspended animation to ride out whatever the disaster was; they built some robots called Starriors. Some were meant to care for the Earth and keep it livable; some were meant to fight off mutants, aliens, etc. that might be a problem for man when he awoke. Lots of time passes. The fighter 'bots decide man's a myth and they should rule. The other 'bots reject this and began a trek to find and awaken mankind, supposedly hidden in some fortress in the middle of nowhere. I could see a neat movie coming from that, although the open-ended nature of their quest for man would have to be taken into account. (It would leave the door open for sequels...)
