In another example of our god and beat up your god, Jabootu has laid his hands on Tom's next movie: Valkerie.
Scientology can't save you now Tom.

The big question that came to my mind was "Why is Tom acting like Maverick from Top Gun in a movie set in World War 2?"
And to show how clueless he is, read this: Click here

And he's dragging Bill Nighy, Kenneth Brannagh, Terence Stamp and Stephen Fry down into hell with him. (Brian Singer is already there waiting.) Curse you, Tom Cruise!!

Hasn't there already been a pretty good movie or two done about the assasination attempt on Hitler?
I'm sure I've seen it.
Cruise in a historical movie? I'm...just...not...seeing it.
And it just doesn't seem to be the right "atmosphere" for Cruise. Something...missing...
I'VE GOT IT!
This movie needs to be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer and produced by Michael Bay. That's what's missing.
They're actually trying to put Cruise in a straight up historical drama.
There needs to be a scene where Cruise is flying a bf109 below rooftop level down a Berlin street with a bunch of Focke Wolf fighters on his tail!
And he should do something with a motorcycle! Like that McQueen guy in The Great Escape.
And just ONE explosion!? That weak suitcase bomb thing that didn't even do the job?
Where was the billowing, gasoline-induced fireball from that explosion? It was just a dull thud and a lot of smoke and masonry dust.
Boooring.
Somebody get Bruckheimer on the phone, STAT! |

Fate is not Tom's side.
The fortunes of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise have suffered a blow with the news that his next big film has been postponed until 2009.
The release of Valkyrie, which tells the story of the 1944 assassination plot against Hitler, was first postponed from this summer to the autumn and is now not expected to appear until next year.
“We were originally expecting the film to be released in June,” said a senior executive at one of Britain’s leading cinema chains.
“I know there have been all sorts of problems with this production and we will not be screening it at all this year.”
The film is not only a blow to Cruise as an actor but in his more recent incarnation as a movie mogul at United Artists (UA), the studio which made the film.
One critic in Hollywood has declared “Valkyrie is dead”, with another arguing that the film’s problems could also wreck the revival of UA.

And I read all of this just after reading Ken's thing on the Entertainment Industry.

Has Hollywood's time come?

(blinks) I think there were more references to God in that one trailer than in the average church service. Isn't that sort of non-Scientologist?
Does someone at UA feel this thing needs divine intervention? |

Hey, Citizen Carrier.
Another thing they could have done is change the music.
I'd recommend the Where Eagles Dare theme. Why take a chance on a new sound?
