Since the New Hampshire vote is upon us, I want to remind those that they have a choice. A man who has said he will give the people "A VOICE!" And he is right now, on the ticket in New Hampshire.

Billy Jack for President!!!!!

On a more serious note, Tom was recently diagnosed with a disease and had to get treatment. I mean him well and hope that he can get his film project off the ground.

For those of you who think he has been very subdued lately, I found this 2001 interview where he seemed to show so sparks of life. A lot may have changed in 7 years but I hope he has some of that energy for his film. God bless.

Ron Paul got more votes than Fred Thompson? Gee, I didn't think Fred had it that bad. I'd imagine that many votes that would have gone to Laughlin went to Paul who for some strange reason has become popular with anti-war leftists.

So he's "Tom" Laughlin rather then Tom Laughlin? WTF?

Indeed.

"The little girl's name is Lisa, and she'll grow up to be an American government teacher at a high school outside Tampa, but not before a movie burns into her brain, changing in a few moments who she is and who she will become."

And there you have All That Scares Me About The American Educational System encapsulated in one sentence.

Later in the article:

The president says it would be a mistake to withdraw precipitously. "Sometimes, you just have to make the decisions based upon what you think is right."

"These are the things that are insane to me," says Laughlin, on hearing Bush's response. "How can one man decide the law of the land?"

And again Tom, what a fricking hypocrite you are. Wasn't that everything that Billy Jack basically stood for?? To be a law unto himself based on "what he thought was right" and to enforce that law through violence if need be, justified by his own moral superiority?

It is August, 2007. One man writes for a backwater newspaper in short declarative sentences, rarely more than two to a paragraph.

He writes of a forgotten era and a man who some thought might be a prophet for the fading hippie generation.

His leaden prose bored us, and our eyes gazed over, and we remembered it not.

It sounds pretty grandiose, which makes me wonder if he's just fantasizing out loud and doesn't realy have the resources to make this film.

I'm sure it must comfort Tom that he at least outpointed candidates O. Saviour and Vermin Supreme.

I kept waiting for Laughlin to claim his illness was caused by a shadowy government conspiracy determined to prevent him from Speaking Truth To Power at any cost. Oh well, maybe next time, eh?

"Speaking Truth to Power" has to be one of the most incomprehensible phrases ever introduced to the English language.

And this is Citizen Carrier, thinking globally and acting locally....
