Er... I use to trust WikiPedia, but I wouldn't take that entry seriously these days, it's probably getting rewritten every 10 minutes, sometimes by pranksters.
From what I'm reading in other media, looks like he accidentally OD himself on sleeping pills.
Quite sad, he was finally getting good roles and his talent was starting being recognised. He also leaves one daughter. |

| Actually, I read that article a couple of weeks ago and after I just checked again this morning it looks to be unchanged from the last time I looked. I’m serious in thinking that he may have driven himself over the edge in making that movie. It seems to me that if you're struggling with addictions to alcohol, heroin and sleeping pills, then locking yourself in a motel room alone and fantasizing at length about being a homicidal maniac is probably not the best way to get yourself clean. |

| From everything I've heard, it seems that production is indeed complete. I think they've even been screening sneak peeks of the movie in various places. |

| It's not so much The Dark Knight that's going to be screwed over by death of Heath Ledger but The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, the film he was currently involved in. I think he was the lead and the filming was only half way done, presumably leaving the production in the lurch. The director... Terry Gilliam, who surely ranks as one of the unluckiest film-makers around. |
