I keep wondering about the stories behind some people's screennames and thought it might be fun to do a thread about it. OK, some are obvious but the rest of you- what's up??
I'll start- for those who don't recognize the name it's taken from the lead character in the all-time great feel-good suck-brains-through-a-straw film for the whole family, Blood Sucking Freaks. Which, was actually called Sardu's Incredible Torture Show or something along those lines until Troma bought the rights and changed it.

I used to be a Resident Evil fanatic (the game, not the movies). My enthusiasm for the series has waned, but I've kept the moniker.

I used to use Cannon Fodder as my name when playing multi-player first person shooters, mainly because I was complete crap at them and generally just died a lot. I kind of got to like using it and generally use it as a screen-name.

I owe my nickname to a Richard Matheson novel. The mutants use to chant it ouside my house at night, it's getting annoying.

Yes, those of you just using names are exempted under the "obvious" clause- unless it's not YOUR name of course *g*

Mine's from one of my favorite MST3K episodes, Space Mutiny. It's one of the numerous names shouted out by M&TBs for the "hero" of the movie. It was a close tie between "Gristle McThornbody" and "Big McLargehuge".

hbrennan... an imaginative moniker for Henry Brennan. But my signature is the result of a few of coincidences: 1. "Indestructible Man" (Lon Chaney) was a childhood favorite. 2. My middle name is "Charles" (as in Charles "the Butcher" Benton). 3. My childhood nickname was "Butch". 4. "Brennan" and "Benton" (bit of a stretch). 5. The movie came out the year I was born.

'Kulfi' is a type of Indian icecream.
Anglicised, it becomes Culfy, a quite nice name for a guinea pig I once had who's colouring resembled a mango Kulfi.
I adopted Culfy as a screen name as a tribute to probably the finest and coolest Cavy I shall ever know

Green Hornet is my favorite superhero. He's so cool that he doesn't need no stinking super powers! But then again, he's never gone up against a T-Rex.....

Mine's simple and unoriginal. First name, last initial, and birthday. Damn, I need to find something a bit flashier.

Mine as well, first name and initial of last name. I like to take full credit and full blame for what I write and I simply lack imagination.

Mine's a tribute both to Lewis Carroll's story, and the general uncertainty/mystery of life (For now we see through a glass, darkly: 1 Cor. 13:12)
