The first book in the "Dragon Lance" series brought to you in wonderful animation! Ooooh! Kiefer Sutherland does some of the voice acting!
What do the reviewers say?

Hmmm. Here's a review from Amazon (prepare for irony!):
"As a feminist I have always hated the portrayal of Tahkisis as the stereotypical power hungry woman who is powerful beautiful and sexual and thus 'evil'. The evil characters are too one dimensional in this. Also, the 'faith' in the gods, became really hackneyed Christian proseltyzing and Paladine looks like... well... too Patriarchal for my tastes."
Wow! That girl sounds like a fun date! I wonder why no guy here has snapped that little filly up?

I find it interesting that the review mentions the Verminaard's evil army comprising "Draconians, Goblins and Orcs." You see, in the books, there are no Orcs in Krynn. Arguably, Draconians serve the function Orcs serve, right down to their backstory, which I don't want to give away. Also, Verminaard isn't the only Highlord in the Dragonarmies, just the most important. There are actually four others, and each commands an army based on the five evil dragon types (if you play D&D, you know them well).
You know Grand Funk, don't you? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The ... adequate drumwork of Don Brewer? |
