The show's new writer is a "left-leaning centrist" who keeps a picture of George Bush eating a kitten and is worried about the show's impact on global warming. Something tells me that if the new season ever airs, it will be the last:

D'oh! Well, frankly the last season pretty much sucked. It would have taken a real major re-tool to lure me back... and this sure ain't it! *g*
The writers decided to scrap the Counter Terrorist Unit, the government agency for which Jack worked for the first six seasons of the show. Instead Jack would go to Washington to address head-on the accusations that his tactics were out of line. He will make his case. He has nothing to apologize for.
Yeah! I hope next season starts with 5 hours of Jack testifying before a Senate committee. Just week after week, in real time, Jack sitting at a table saying "I don't recall," and "I'll have to check on that". That would be riveting TV.

Well,I don't like 24,but it has nothing to do with the show's politics.
A kinder, gentler Jack Bower? That'll turn a IMHO silly show into the john...........maybe they should call it Touched By An Agent...
This final mission will decide the fate of the human race. This is Operation:Final War |

I hope the show creators are clever enough to improve on last year's season and then quit before the show finally goes downhill.
But the preview I saw a few months ago and the fact that Sutherland may have signed for at least two more seasons (or this is what I remember having read) gimme little hope. |

And? And?? Is this just bad writing or do they really mean it about PSAs? |

If the showmakers were smart they'd have pulled the plug two seasons ago. I'd say its less a case of a show jumping the shark so much as it is a show that's wore out its welcome.

I bet they're already in talks with Tom Laughlin for a cameo.

I'm still waiting for an episode where Jack Bauer actually has to use the bathroom.

Foy, banish that thought!
If he did, his muscles would be too tired to break the neck of any terrorist who was unfortunate enough to get between his legs.
He is Jack "Killer Thighs" Bauer don't you know.

Shouldn't Jack be on tranquilizers at this point? How many aventure packed, world-on-the-edge days can one guy go through without cracking up?

Why do I get the sense that the joke just completely flew over your head?
