You'd think that formenting international peasant revolution would leave little time for reviewing movies, but you'd be wrong.

Geeze. *g* Reading the review of A.I. is the best laugh I've had in a while. I wanted to read a scathing review of a movie that openly supported capitalism and democracy but of course, there aren't any...

| When I was in school one of the theater groups put on a nice production of Kismet. They designed many colorful costumes for the show and worked for months to put on a very professional performance. The local newspaper reviewer however attacked the show for not having any social realism and for having unrealistic clothing and for not fostering the social revolution. He missed wholly the story, the music, the performance, everything. Such is the way with dogmatic communists. I agree, with so much work to do generating the social revolution I wonder how they have so much time to watch these things, including the Powerpuff Girls. |

I loved this:
Attention: If you do not want to be tracked by Amazon bookstore, do not click on the red "buy it" links or graphics for the movie titles below. Just read the reviews.
I mean, hey, Amazon are a bunch of evil capitalist pigs and if you're a proper socialist you will not click on the "buy" link but for all you non-socialist heathen we've provided a convenient Amazon.com link for your viewing pleasure and our profit.

Why in the world to they keep spelling human as "humyn?" I understand some of the reasoning behind the other mis-spellings in the world of communist, progressive, far-left speak. Is there some sort of evil capitalist plot in using the word human?
Best line from the Men in Black review:
quote: The true hero of the story is a cockroach trying to bring an energy source to his people, after taking it by force from a species that is hoarding all the energy in marble-type containers.

HumAn has The Man in it. It would be funny if they spelled "The Man" "The Myn".

Thanks Ericb. Obviously, I was blinded by my bourgeois attitudes. I'll have to run to my local re-education center for some refresher courses.

I thought I was familiar with far-left rethoric, but this site is just too much. I doubted it was a legit site until I saw the "Home" link, which indeed points to what looks like a legit Maoist website.
Browsing through the reviews I was also sure they were written tongue in cheek, but now I'm not so sure. To be fair, some of the stuff in there is so twisted it *almost* has its appeal.
I mean, who else out there could think an Eddie Murphy film like "Harlem Nights" could teach valuable lessons to the world's Maoists? |

Of course it is! The hero is not even human! And the scene where they trash an Starbucks Café is a metaphor of revolution against evil capitalism worthy of Eisenstein.
Now I need to get some sleep. |

What a ghastly website.
Communism can never work because it's adherents use stilted, cumbersome, unlovely rhetoric and sound continuously if they are sufferring from multiple gastro-intestinal ailments. |

I just had to come back to this.
Here's their short review of Independence Day with a few of my observations thrown in.
What should the international proletariat do when space aliens attacking earth with the intent of killing all humans?
Unionize? Bombard the aliens with burst transmissions of Arlo Guthrie tunes?
ID4,doesn't say, but once the principal contradiction shifts from imperialism-vs.-oppressed nations to Humanity-vs.-Space Aliens, a lot of old enemies work together against the new enemy.
Which would never happen in real life. Just ask FDR, Churchill, and Stalin.
Of course, Hollywood makes the Amerikans the smart ones who have to lead the fight.
Hey, it's not just that we're smart! We're also fabulously rich...because we've embraced capitalism. That's how we can afford the world's best military AND have a car in every garage and a chicken in every pot. What socialist country ever pulled that off?
So the planet is under threat of annihilation and the world is going to look to the military/industrial might of the European Union to save our collective bacon? Don't kid yourself.
After the aliens are defeated, the oppressed may have a revolutionary opportunity amid all the destruction. Still, MIM asks, "who wrote this?" For now, aliens are cultural creations, and therefore class creations.
You know folks, I'm a fairly politically-minded guy. My discussions of movies often take place in a political context, but can you imagine a more wretched existence than seeing EVERYTHING through this twisted, depressing prism? To walk away from a pretty fun flick like ID4 eager to get to your keyboard so you can start typing this stuff?
If this was a movie written with proletarian politics, advanced aliens would more likely be communists, not evil imperialists.
If this movie was written with proletarian politics, nobody would've watched it.
And thank God advanced communists never invade and tyrannize people. Just ask any Eastern European older than 25. Or the Afghans. Or the Tibetans, you Maoist idiot.
Or in a different as yet unwritten revolutionary alien movie, the proletariat unites with the space aliens behind the bourgeoisie's back. Then, at the crucial moment, the bourgeoisie realize they have been outflanked by the combined forces of the space aliens and the proletariat. Then, the aliens and what's left of humanity peacefully coexist.
Thank God the writer's strike is over before Hollywood got absolutely desperate and started hiring scabs. Thank. God.

I can think of a thousand different reasons to dislike ID4 that has nothing to do with its alleged politics.
Seriously, this website is hilarious. If it is a parody then its a work of genius. If it is for real then its clearly the ramblings of someone with little foothold in reality. Someone should get the people that run this site to do a joint review the CapAlert people and have them review the new Rambo movie or something along those lines.

Good God.
I am genuinely unable to tell if this site is serious or not. I just. Can't. Tell. |
