...because I just looked on IMdB and the winner of the Academy Award (tm) for best editing went to....
wait for it...
The Bourne Ultimatum.
The film that makes Micheal Bay's editing look like friggin 2001 in comparison. The most confusing, headache inducing jumbled mess of jump-cuts and shakycam in recent memory. A film that had 11 cuts (I counted) in a 6 second shot of a bike hitting- something, I forget what.

I hope they buy a camera tripod this time. If they don't, I'll only return to cinemas 30 years in the future to watch an elderly Bourne being chaesd by equally geriatric super-killers with steel walking canes.

I really hope this attention-deficit-disorder style of editing is just another passing phase Hollywood is going through, like bullet-time action sequences and David Spade rom-coms.
