With my often goofy work schedule and an unwillingness (i.e. I'm cheap) to purchase TiVo or a DVR, I find that I've been watching more TV episodes online. I am wondering what everyone else's experience has been. I've found that:

- ABC: Seems to have the best quality. The commercials actually tend to perform worse than the actual show.
- CBS: Awful player with too many stoppages even though they use the same player as ABC. They do offer some classic shows like the Twilight Zone and TOS. The commercials play fairly well though.
- NBC: Basically the same as CBS, except they don't have classic episodes and their selection screen has the rest of the web page display behind it making the text almost illegible.
- FOX: For awhile their player was horrible. However, I watched "The Terminator" series recently and it was about ABC quality. Regrettably that quality was wasted on "The Terminator" series.
- USA: Yes it's fun to watch half an episode and then have the player get stuck repeatedly running the same commercials.

The only real experience I had with this was watching the latest season of The Office on NBC. The show is great, but the streaming was terrible. It would sometimes crash and I would have to start over again from the beginning, not to mention having to watch the same four commercials ten times during a 20 minute show.

In contrast, I cannot say enough good things about Netflix's streaming program, which is available as a free service to all members. The quality is awesome and it remembers where you left off if you have to watch something over a couple days. Only a few movies are available for each genre, but I powered through the first three season of the aforementioned Office in but a few days. Oh, and there are no commercials. I know I am a Netflix fanboy, but this company constantly exceeds my expectations.

I've been using ABC's online service since it was in beta. About the only show I watch there is LOST, though I did enjoy Daybreak. It's interesting that they have a few online only shows. Daybreak ended that when it was canceled and finished the season online. As for the others, I don't know. It would be nice to see if ABC started doing shows only for online.

FOX has a pretty good service rigth now. I catch eithor House or Bones on the service and haven't had any real issue with them.

CBS, I only watched an Epp of Star Trek just to check out the quality, not bad.

NBC. I tried it last year and was highly disapointed. I hope it's better.

I've looked around at the NetFlix service, but haven't put much time into it.
