Hear hear. First of all, as far as I'm concerned humanity's natural response to the environment IS to adapt it to his needs. That's what we do. Why is it that if a beaver builds a dam it's natural and wonderful and if humans build a dam it's unnatural and bad for the planet? And second anyone who has some ridiculous hippie notion of a simpler life in harmony with Mother Nature should be sentenced by law to live a version of the show "Colonial House" and experience life with no manufactured food, modern medicine, labor saving devices of any kind and find out just what the hell they are really advocating.

Or as P.J. O'Rourke said, "The first thing you learn about nature is, it makes you itch, really bad."

The people who created this idiotic test can hereby kiss the fattest part of my ass. I live in fear that people like this could end up in a position of authority, because I am certain they won't resist the temptation to kill off everyone they think has had their (according to their fiat) "fair share." I'm not going to lay down and die so this bunch of assholes can have their utopia, nor am I going to let them condemn me and my descendants to serfdom so they can have all the high-tech stuff they want. Seriously, I don't see any of them offering to lead by example and live like cavemen in the name of saving the environment. Even if they do, they can have it, because I won't be going back to the jungle for their sakes anyway. If our relationship with nature is a war, then these people are traitors, who have betrayed humanity and progress so they can have the power of life and death over everyone else.
You know Grand Funk, don't you? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The ... adequate drumwork of Don Brewer? |
