Well, I've made it through the first ten minutes... I may try for ten more tomorrow. At this rate in about two weeks it will be over! *g* I don't want to spoil the, er, fun since I know Ken will give it the analysis it deserves once he gets his hands on it... let's just say that none of the budget was wasted on the soundtrack, let alone a competent cast. The music alone is making this film a case of Deep Hurting; a shame because it could have worked in its favor and not against it (cough cough Carnival Of Souls cough) And as it turns out the notion of shooting an entire feature in split-screen doesn't appear be in and of itself a horrible concept. This must have been an interesting challenge for the editor. In the hands of a Hitchcock (or as history has shown, in small doses from a Hitchcock wanna-be like Brian DePalma) the Duo-Vision gimmick could work. One more observation: actual film prints of WW must be non-existent. The source for the TCM showing is appalling- there are tracking errors during the opening credits and the whole thing looks like VHS; smeary, lacking detail and edge halos everywhere. Also, there is light cropping on the sides but probably not enough to really matter.
