Yikes. Little Odessa is VERY depressing, and so is its pesudo-sequel / prequel / whatever We own the night.

I wouldn't say the whole movie was depressing, but the ending of "The Mist" caught me off guard.

I don't know if 1930's All Quiet On The Western Front was "depressing", I felt kind of "numb and tired" at the end. I guess I was trying to identify with the solders and succeeded. the 1984 version of 1984 was more "dull, confusing and frustrating" than "depressing" for me. It didn't help when I read the novel years later.
