I wonder if James Cameron knew his creation's path would end here?

Well, it has Christian Bale. Also....
Well, it has Christian Bale.
(long pause)
McG directed it.

| Yet another tarnishing of the Terminator franchise but part of me really wants to see more of that giant robot with a cannon for a head. |

I'm watching it. The last film was OK, silly humour apart, and the TV series is nothing short of great.
Plus it has Christian Bale. And McG... well, he didn't screw up Supernatural, did he? |

| The last Terminator film was so talky and pedestrian it resembled a Sci-Fi channel original movie at times. Without Schwarzenegger, it probably could have been. |

I think I'll pass - at least till I accidentally stumble on it on HBO at some point in the future.

I thought for a minute someone had accidentally replaced this trailer with one for a "reimagining" of Mad Max.
I dunno what to think. I haven't even seen the 3rd one yet. Maybe a rental.
--------------------- I do really like that big-ass gun-headed robot though. Damn. |

| Does anyone know how this movie is supposed to relate to the surprisingly pretty damn good Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles? Or does it at all? |

| I haven't the slightlest clue, and I think neither do the filmmakers. |

The new movie follows the T3 timeline.
And "surprisingly" is right. I can't imagine a show where competing factions send women into the past to get John Connor laid would be anything but a huge joke, but this show manages to pull it off.. and pull it off well.

Very well. The series has some glaring flaws, but overall, it's a good continuation of the story. I haven't seen Terminator 3, nor do I have any immediate plans to do so, but I suspect that if I watched it and the series side by side, I'd recommend that the TV show, not the movies, be the one considered canon. |
