more sad news. Majel Barrett the wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenbury has died at age 76. Barret had appeared in all incarnations of Star Trek usually as the voice of the computer and other parts. She had just completed her voice overs as the voice of the computer in the new ST "reboot" that we have been discussing here. Nurse Chappell, we will miss you.

This hits me harder than Bettie or Forrie because, dammit, I grew up with Trek. I grew up ON Trek.

Ya know, she was some much the background voice of Trek, I wonder if this is the official proof that its all over.
Not that Next Gen wasen't a warning sign...

Yes---How sad. Hopefully they have enough computer voice dialog of her to keep her voice as the computer in future versions...
