The closest thing I've seen to entertaining on CN is Teen Titans and MegaXLR.

Lately, though, I've taken the stance of waiting for Season Sets and just buying them, so I tend to see some of the cartoons discussed long after they've been released.

I will say though, that in the rare instances where I turn on my TV, when I go to CN I've noticed a downward trend in programming, just like SciFi Channel. Just like Scifi, I used to be able to tune in at odd moments and get hooked on good new shows, and older shows I liked. But as Scifi started making money, the older programming got edged out, and the budget used for original programming got spread out further and longer until they churned out turds. Same with CN, though they seem to also be purchasing defunct shows (like Crap, Crapp, and Crappier) and extending them. Even their choice of anime has been somewhat lacking (perhaps because of the fledgling Anime Network). Pokemon and YuGiOh seem to be on all the frickin' time, as if networks weren't saturated with it already.

I'm seconding Ubiq, btw, and going one step further. Home Movies and Dr. Katz were horrendous. Great comedic talent behind it, but it was too much effort to look past the miserable animation and some truly annoying voices. Plus, from the episodes I saw, there were a lot of dead space moments - in live TV, ok, or in poorly edited movies, ok, but in animation? Then again, they seemed to draw from the same well of 'humor' as Seinfeld and Friends, two shows I thoroughly detested (except for Seinfelds last episode).

And next they're showing Goonies. I love Goonies, I do, but WHY on Cartoon Network?

No, as a matter of fact, there has never been one single time where I've been mellow.

Yes, they're kind of over-doing it with the 4Kids shows, which especially annoys me considering how badly they butchered One Piece.

Tom Goes to the Mayor is the worst for that from what I've seen, but several of their newer shows are downright awful. The newest show, Perfect Hair Forever, seems like it was something that was slightly funny once, but will very quickly grow tiresome.

12 Oz Mouse, on the other hand, is quite possibly the worst show to ever appear on Cartoon Network. Even Jabootu must have been hard pressed to come up with something that bad... though it might have been a collaborative effort with his older brother, Xenu.

Funny you mention that, when I just recently got around to reading this comic:

Perfect Hair Forever? Would that by any chance feature a young Japanese boy and his grandfather? There was a one-shot cartoon AS ran a couple times about the boy going on a quest for perfect hair, and like you said about the show, it wasn't funny at all after the first time. Not that it was all that funny to begin with.

Okay, I hate to admit it, but I actually liked Boondocks a lot more than I thought I would (especially since I hate the comic). The animation is actually really good.

I'd say I like Cartoon Network overall, I sort of wish it would divide into two networks, one for kids and one for prolonged adolescent jackasses like me. I also think I am in the minority in that I don't care much for the Japanese Stuff. I love the Family Guy/Futurama reruns, Justice League, and Venture Brothers.

The only shows i realy would like to see agine are DAVE THE BARBARIAN ( But thats Disney ),MEGAS XLR, and DUCK DODGERS....but i ain't holdin' my breath!...

Sad to say, Matrixprime nailed it. The economics of the cable networks are aginst good, new programming....and as i read that sentince, i realise that does not explain the existance of the new stuff on AS....
But the only new stuff they use , is because they have to. Fertilizer..to make the audience grow, as it were. Which explains why i have this amazing empethy for mushrooms...

Trust me, what Scott did to Luffy is nowhere near as bad as what 4Kids did to the series.

Yes. I thought it was just a throwaway gag because Squidbillies was behind schedule (how, I can't possibly imagine); if it was, it must have prompted a good enough response for Adult Swim to turn it into a series.

Well, like I said before Harvey Birdmasn and Venture Bros. are my faves, although I also like Futurama, and full Metal Alchemist. Still 12 oz mouse and squidbillies are truly baaaad shows.
