You know, being European and all that I'm a bit lost when you speak of Tom Loughlin and Billy Jack. I even had to take a look at WikiPedia to more or less understand what the whole thing is going on.
But today I was watching the latest Dolph Lundgren epic to date, Missionary Man, and one particular scene caight my eye. In it the tequila-drinking preacher played by Lundgren is surrounded by local henchmen. After some chatting, the following exchange takes place:
- What you gonna do now, preacherman?
- I'm gonna ask you to beg the good lord for forgiveness. (beat) But not before I take this knee and break that nose. (the henchmen laugh) And you know what?
- What?
- There ain't nothing you can do about it.
(several random acts of mayhem follow)
Does it ring any bells? As for the film, it's not to good. Lundgren himself directs it, and his main trick is to bath the whole thing in dim lightning and grainy cinematography. It's certainly better than some of his latest stuff, but it seems to me he's taking the whole thing too seriously.
