Jeff Healey, the blind guitarist who led the bar band in Roadhouse, and a Toronto entertainment staple, has passed away from cancer. :-(. Apparently, the cancer was related to the disease that initially took his vision at age one.

A great musician - I saw him perform live once. Ironically, my brother and sister-in-law were hoping to see him perform this spring.

He was an amazing artist. I saw him as an opening act for ZZ Top (in Albuquerque, N.M.) in the early 90s. He just got better with time. You can catch his work on youtube.com - two of my favorites: his duet with Stevie Ray Vaughn (another performer who died too young) and his rendition of Cream's "White Room".
