By the way, I also have (on VHS) "Santa's Christmas Elf (named Calvin)" also directed by Barry Mahon. It's a bit rare and I don't think it even shows on the IMDB. If you want a copy, email me at henrybrennan@hotmail.com. I haven't seen it, yet - but I'm sure it's hideous (as in sun demon).

I just posted this on the Um, Er.. thread, but it fits this topic too. Did anyone notice that Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey has been RiffTraxed? Only $.99, quite a bargain for anyone who has access to the video.

Now you don't have to just imagine a bad Christmas special getting the MST3K treatment, you can actually experience it. :-)

Nestor has been getting some play this week on the Family Channel this week. It's scheduled to air again Sunday the 24th on Family at 4:30 P.M. (Eastern and Pacific). If anyone's interested, you can always tape it. The commercial breaks will throw off Rifftrax synch, but it shouldn't be an insurmountable problem.

By the way - if anyone wants to do a review - I would send them a copy free of charge (of course). That's an offer extended this holiday season to long term Jabootuites. Merry Christmas everyone!

I think it's fairly obvious by now that Rifftrax is 99% preoccupied with skewering big budget Hollywood movies and will never get around to riffing the likes of Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny and company. But now that Cinematic Titanic is about to set sail with the original cast of MST3K aboard, who knows what the future may hold?

I'll back Santa Claus: The Movie as well. The fact that it was a big movie and now is more forgotten than Buckaroo Banzai is indeed a testament to a good mocking. That said, I'll be the first to recommend that the godawful Silent Night Deadly Night series be included (with special attention given to the second and third movies) as well as Christmas Evil (which includes the biggest WTF ending ever in the history of film).

the made for TV copy of Its A Wonderful Life with Marlo Thomas in the Jimmie Stewart role is execrable.

Santa Claus The Movie is certainly a winner. Anything on the Hallmark or Lifetime channels is deserving of MST treatment. I agree with the afore mentioned Kranks and Deck The Halls, and the live action Grinch. The current Fred Claus looks dreadful.
